Why We Walk:
Finding out our Margot had Cystic Fibrosis was devastating. There are really no words to describe the feeling of sitting in a doctor’s office just 10 days after she was born and being told to “please step into a separate room”. Those six words still echo. In an instant the soft future we’d imagined for our little girl shifted under our feet, replaced by a fear so vast it was unbearable.
The first year blurred into a dizzying mix of learning treatments, juggling medications, and trying to be new parents while our hearts ached for the life we thought we’d know. There were nights I rocked her and tried not to sob, afraid she could feel my panic. And yet, out of that darkness came a truth we hadn’t expected: we are stronger than we thought, and, most importantly, we are not alone.
Our friends and family have been with us every step of this journey. Their love, time, and tireless support held us up when everything else felt fragile. The CF Foundation has connected us with other CF Parents and adults with CF who have filled us with endless hope and courage. And finally, watching Margot grow into a sweet, yet head-strong toddler has filled us with a strength and determination only a parent would understand.
Thank you to everyone who supports us: whether through love, participating in walks, or donations and fundraising. Thank you for being there for our Margot.
