5th Annual Clinic for a Cure

Clinic for a Cure
A 3 Day Baseball Clinic to Raise Money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Date:  August 12 - August 14
Time:  9:00 - 11:30
Location:  Parkway LL Complex, West Roxbury, MA

The fifth annual baseball Clinic for a Cure will take place August 12, 13 and 14 at Parkway LL Compex in West Roxbury, MA.  The clinic is for children ages 6 - 12 and the hours are 9:00 - 11:30.  The goal is for the children to have fun and improve their baseball skills.  In addition, we hope to make people aware of Cystic Fibrosis and to raise money to help fight this disease. 100% of the money goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The coaches, counselors and trainers are all volunteers.
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that impacts breathing and digestion.  People with CF spend time each day using nebulizers and doing chest therapy in order to break up the mucus that builds up in the lungs. They take enzymes before each meal to help them digest food and receive the necessary nutrients.
My older daughter, Claire was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was two weeks old.  Thanks to the advances in medication and treatment, she has lived a "normal" life.  Eleven now, she participates in numerous sports and activities, and if you were not told, you would not know she had CF.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has fueled dramatic improvements in cystic fibrosis research and care.  Because of the Foundation, people with CF are living longer, healthier lives.
Although the outlook for people with CF is far better than it was a generation ago, there is still work to go.  Donations will allow research to continue, and hopefully with that research, pretty soon CF will stand for Cure Found.
Please consider registering for the clinic or making a donation.

Sincerely,
Hal Carey
