Charlie is living with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease primarily affecting the lungs and digestive system. The mucus in people with CF is thick and sticky, like molasses and causes the body to easily hold onto bacteria and viruses, resulting in frequent infections and degradation of the lung tissue. Charlie's father and uncles also attended and played baseball at Nevada High School. They will be playing for the Nevada All-Stars!
