I am thrilled to announce the details of the
Third Annual Happy Hour for Heroes charity event.
The Story
For those who do not know, my father passed away tragically during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. He worked for Aon (the company I now work for) in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. As a senior leader in the office, he took it upon himself to ensure as many of his colleagues as possible made it home that day. He is credited for savings 156 lives as he ushered his peers to the elevators and to safety. He was performing one final sweep of the floor before losing his life. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of him or miss him. I have the best guardian angel I could have asked for. My father is an American Hero.
While he was alive, my father was an advocate for raising money toward research on Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a rare genetic disease that causes thick mucus to build up in the lungs, making it difficult to breathe and causing infections. My two cousins, Ryan and Meghan Berger, live with CF every day. They are two of the strongest people that I know. It is an honor and a privilege to pick up the torch that my father has left behind.
The Event
This event first took place in 2019 at the One World Observatory (One World Trade, also known as the Freedom Tower) and was a rousing success. Due to COVID-19 we cancelled the event in 2020. We held the event at Clinton Hall in 2021 due to COVID restrictions. Happy to share that this year we will be returning to the iconic and fitting One World Observatory this year.
The cost of one ticket to the event will be $100, which includes the following:
  • A donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
  • Two drink vouchers (you may purchase your own when you are out of vouchers)

Every donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated, even if you are unable to attend the event. It is a truly special night that I spend a lot of time and energy in making sure it is a success. I want everyone to remember those we lost on 9/11 the way they would want us to remember them: with a smile. All while raising money for a cause that is dear to my heart.
I would like to thank the One World Observatory, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and my employer Aon for making this year’s event possible. Together, let’s change CF from Cystic Fibrosis to Cure Found.
