Claire's Fitness Fun Day
ABOUT CLAIRE & CYSTIC FIBROSIS: Claire is a 9 year old student at NNCS who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis(CF) at two weeks old. CF is a life threatening genetic disease that effects the lungs and digestive system. Daily treatments, medications, and therapies can help manage the disease but with your help, we are fighting for a cure for Claire and everyone with CF. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has fueled dramatic improvements in cystic fibrosis research and care. Because of the Foundation, people with CF are living longer and healthier lives. The outlook for people with CF continues to improve year after year.
We know there is a cure in her future, please help us make CF stand for Cure Found!
ABOUT OUR EVENT: We want to encourage kids to exercise and be more active, but show them how to do so in a fun way, set to music! It runs similar to a Zumbathon, where there is always an instructor leading a routine and kids can jump in whenever they want to. For the duration of our event, we will have instructors from local businesses and youth programs demonstrating their form of fitness, while having the kids follow along. The goal is to keep them moving, not just observing. If your child is not interested in the activity being demonstrated, there are plenty of activity areas around the room to enjoy. Many of the youth programs or businesses also have a table, where parents can gather information about signing their child up for a program they may have enjoyed, or just stopping for the kids to participate in a short activity.
ACTIVITIES: Kids Zumba, Yoga, Tae Kwon Do, Basketball, Dance, Football, Hockey, Exercise with Elsa, Obstacle Course, Crafts, Face Painting, a Silent Auction with items geared towards adults and kids, Snack Bar, and a
